Description

This project will expand the current wireless communications networks for traffic operations and public safety communications. Expansion of the wireless communications network will allow for TMC operators to control and configure additional ITS devices in areas without fiber optic infrastructure, as well as increase data sharing with agencies in the region. This project also provides enhanced capabilities to public safety agencies in communications and coordination during incident and emergency situations. Wireless communications could serve as a bridge between two segments of fiber–optic cable that are not connected.

* This project supports communications among ITS assets and agencies. However, this project does not contain a physical architecture.
