TxDOT El Paso District Slippery Pavement Warning System

Description
This element represents future slippery pavement warning systems in the El Paso region. These systems will detect pavement conditions (due to rain, snow, ice, etc.) via field sensors located near the roadway. Once slippery pavement conditions have been detected, an advance warning will be activated via flashing beacons to alert drivers upstream of the location of potentially unsafe driving conditions. Future system installations could also include sending alerts to TransVista for use in activating dynamic message signs located upstream of the slippery locations.
