TxDOT El Paso District Bicycle Pedestrian Safety Systems

Status

Future

Description

Represents future bicycle and pedestrian safety systems at crossings along roadways. The systems will automatically detect pedestrians and/or bicyclists using roadside detectors and also provide advance visual warnings to drivers that a bicyclists/pedestrian has been detected. These will operate as stand–alone systems and can be installed at crossings as an automated device or as a pushbutton. Systems are proposed for the US–67 Corridor.
